Sandy & Allie need good loving indoor homes.
Sandy we have had for too long now. She really needs someone to love her. She does not do well with cats, and would be perfectly fine as an only pet. She enjoys playing with other dogs, but could care less about them as long as there was a person there to love her. She is potty trained and can sit and shake and we are working on our other commands. She is about 4 years old and 35lbs and quite prissy.
Allie is our latest sweet heart. She is a benji looking dog that does well with all other dogs and kids and people. We have been told she is fine with cats, but I have not tested that out yet. She is about 40lbs of love.
They actually get along great together if you know someone who would like to start out with a multiple dog family. We only want the best for all the pooches we adopt out, so we will be picky and sometimes do let them stay a night or two in a prospective home before placing them permanently. |

CHANGES CHANGES CHANGES |

Hopefully you are noticing all the wonderful changes taking place with the Mutt House.
We have completed the 1/2 walls in the play areas and now will be finishing up the final touches to them and completing the new gates. These higher solid walls are keeping the dogs calmer and helping with fence aggression. All the Pet Pals love them!!!
We have replaced all the old mats with bright new colorful mats.
We got a toddler race car bed on the bid dog side which they all love.
We will pulling up the outdoor carpet this weekend and putting down scattered about some new plastic decking pieces to see what they think about it. We are hoping they will want to lay on the decking, but who knows...They seem to prefer the cool cement.
You will be seeing lots of other changes over the next few months, and hopefully you and the dogs like them all... |

Valentine Party Re-Cap |

We had lots of fun at the Valentine Party. We had about 25 people and 18 dogs come through from 1-3PM. We had a WONDERFUL dessert array provided by Jackson & Co. which included all kinds of cookies, chocolate covered strawberries and even truffles.
We played a fun game which included the dog walking or jumping through a hoola hoop, then sitting in the hoola hoop, and then the parent or parents had to hoola hoop to get the prize for their pooch. You can look at the pics posted which are quite comical. All the dogs behaved themselves and did not embarrass their parents.
We hope those of you that attended enjoyed it as much as all of the Mutt House Gang enjoyed hosting it. We hope more can join us for future parties. |

New Doggie Daycares |

A few of you have been asking some questions about the new daycares opening in the area. It is hard for me to really give an opinion until I see how they are run. Safety is what I really care about the most in any facility.
You will see about 3 new doggie daycares opening up over the next 4 weeks or so. Happy Tails--an out of state franchise, will be opening up on Waugh. I think their grand opening will be March 11th. Jackson's Place now has a new larger facility at W. Alabama & Graustark which I think will have their grand opening March 6th. Then there will be new owners taking over Doggie Daycare on Shepherd which had closed down in December. I think they are opening next week. And a few weeks ago, Four Paws opened up in the Heights.
I have been to visit a few of them already and some of them have come to visit me. So feel free to talk to me about the other daycares and do let me know if you decide to attend another daycare or even switch daycares. As long as you feel comfortable and think your pooch is in a clean, fun and safe environment, that is all that matters to me. |

Nap Time Hours Changing
Our naptime hours are changing Mon-Fri to 11:30AM-1:30PM. The dogs will not be sleeping the entire time, but we will be encourging resting during the 2 hours. This is going to give us more time to clean the back area, give lunch breaks to the Pet Pals and give the dogs a little more of a rest period. It has just been too rushed trying to do it all in a one hour time frame. So we will be closed on the week days from 11:30-1:30. |

Housing Wanted |

Our wonderful manager, Aimee, is looking for a home for her and her pooches. She has been fortunate enough to live with her brother, but it is time for him to have his space and privacy. Aimee is highly involved in dog rescue, with a passion for minature pincher rescue, so she will always have at least 3 little dogs running around in her home at a time. She is very responsbile and a very clean person, even with all the kiddos. She is also great at remodling and fixing up homes/apartments. So whether you have a place that needs fixing up or just would like to rent to her, please let us know. She is on a tight budget and probably can not afford more than $500/month rent. And would always be willing to fix up a place
in exchange for rent. |
