Dog Mouth Warts (Canine viral papilloma) |
|
Here is the skinny on what we have been told and read about warts in dog's mouths. We have had about 1 dog a month with one or two warts inside their lip or on the outside of their lip. Two vets said it was contagious, and two vets said it was not contagious. Of course, due to our environment and seeing this again and again, we agree that it is contagious if the dog is not immune to it. This is something that normally young dogs can get, and it can take 8 weeks for the warts to dissappear. The incubation time supposedly can be 1 to 2 months as well. And there is really no documentation of when it is contagious during this 1 to 4 month period. So we want everyone to be aware of this in case they see a wart in their dog's mouth. It normally requires no veterinarain attention, but if it does not go away, of course, you would want to
get it checked out by your veterinarian. Please do your own research and always consult your veterinarian when concerned. |

Front Board |
|
When you walk into the Mutt House, we now have a wall built to your right. Not only does this keep you guys from reaching over the fence, but it now gives us a wall to post things. Our Pet Pals will actually be creating the board every month, so we will see how creative they can be with it. We will post birthdays, pictures and any upcoming events at the Mutt House. So check the board the next time you drop off your pooch. |
